BULACAN — Sixth District Congressman Salvador Aquino “Ador” Pleyto paid tribute to elderly Filipinos during the celebration of Elderly Filipino Week 2026 here, recognizing their invaluable contributions to families and communities.
Pleyto honored grandparents and senior citizens for the sacrifices they have made, the wisdom they have imparted, and the experiences that continue to guide younger generations.
He emphasized that elderly Filipinos are pillars of their families and communities, leaving a legacy that deserves lasting appreciation, respect, and care.

According to Pleyto, the celebration should serve as a reminder that love and concern for senior citizens must extend beyond special occasions.
He urged the public to make caring for older persons and attending to their needs and well-being part of everyday life, stressing that they deserve attention, respect and compassion throughout the year.
“May we not only make them feel loved, respected and cared for today, but also continue to show them the same concern even when there is no special occasion,” Pleyto said.
The lawmaker’s message underscored the importance of recognizing the elderly not only for their past contributions but also for their continuing role in shaping families and communities.
Elderly Filipino Week provides an opportunity to highlight the dignity, welfare, and contributions of older Filipinos while encouraging families and communities to strengthen their commitment to senior citizens.
For Pleyto, honoring the elderly should go beyond a week-long observance and become a continuing responsibility—one that reflects gratitude for the generation whose sacrifices and guidance helped shape the lives of many Filipinos.
