MANILA — Warm winds from the Pacific, locally known as easterlies, continue to affect large parts of the country, bringing cloudy skies and scattered rains, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Sunday.
Areas expected to experience cloudy conditions with intermittent rain and thunderstorms include the Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, and parts of Luzon such as Sorsogon, Masbate, and Palawan. Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Basilan are also likely to see similar weather.
PAGASA warned that moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall in these areas could trigger flash floods or landslides.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. Residents are advised to remain alert, especially during severe thunderstorms that may cause localized flooding.
Winds across Northern Luzon will be light to moderate, blowing from the east to southeast, while the rest of the country will experience similar wind conditions from the east to northeast. Coastal waters nationwide are expected to remain slight to moderate, with wave heights ranging from 0.6 to 1.8 meters.
Temperature in Quezon City reached a high of 35.3°C Saturday afternoon and dropped to 25.0°C early morning, with humidity levels peaking at 78 percent.
