MANILA — Weather disturbances brought by the easterlies are expected to cause scattered rains and thunderstorms in multiple parts of the Philippines, the state weather bureau said Saturday.
According to PAGASA’s early morning forecast, Mindanao, Visayas, Palawan, Sorsogon, and Masbate will experience cloudy skies with intermittent rain and thunderstorms.
Most other parts of the country will have generally fair weather with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
Sea conditions remain manageable with light to moderate winds nationwide.
At the same time, PAGASA raised concerns over dangerous heat index levels in 13 locations, with Dagupan City recording a forecast high of 44°C.
Several areas in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao are expected to reach heat indices between 42°C and 43°C, including Tuguegarao City, Laoag City, Bacnotan, and Cotabato City.
The bureau reminded the public that prolonged exposure to such heat levels can lead to heat exhaustion and other heat-related illnesses.
