MANILA – Rain-bearing easterlies will continue to affect parts of the country on Sunday, bringing cloudy skies and possible downpours.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Caraga, Eastern Samar, and Southern Leyte will likely experience overcast weather with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to warm winds carrying moisture from the Pacific Ocean.
The agency warned of possible flash floods or landslides in these areas as rainfall could become moderate to heavy.
Batanes, on the other hand, will be affected by a frontal system, which may result in cloudy skies, scattered rains, and isolated thunderstorms. Such systems occur when warm and cold air masses collide, creating unstable weather.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by the easterlies.
Winds will be light to moderate, and coastal waters will remain slight to moderate. Temperatures will stay high, with the heat index reaching 35.5°C.
