MANILA – Fair weather conditions are set to continue across the Philippines on Thursday, with high temperatures and only isolated thunderstorms expected, according to the state weather agency.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that the country will see a mix of partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with localized thunderstorms likely developing from afternoon until evening.
“These are isolated events and are mainly driven by daytime heating,” said PAGASA weather specialist Leanne Loreto.
She added that no low pressure area is currently being monitored, indicating a low chance of storm formation in the coming days.
Temperatures are expected to climb to as high as 37°C in Tuguegarao City, while Metro Manila could reach around 35°C.
The heat index, which measures perceived temperature, may hit dangerous levels of up to 41°C in Aparri, Tuguegarao, and Cotabato City. In Metro Manila, it is projected to range from 37°C to 38°C, potentially causing discomfort and heat stress.
Across the country, winds will remain light to moderate, while sea conditions will stay slight to moderate, PAGASA said.
