MANILA – Warm and humid weather conditions are expected to persist across the Philippines as easterlies continue to influence the country’s weather pattern, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.
In the agency’s 5 a.m. bulletin on Saturday, weather specialist Loriedin dela Cruz-Galicia said the entire country will likely see partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with the possibility of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, particularly during the afternoon.
The weather bureau also reported that there are currently no low-pressure areas being monitored within or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility that could develop into a tropical cyclone.
Winds across the archipelago will remain light to moderate, while seas will be slight to moderate.
Heat index values may climb to 36°C to 37°C in parts of Metro Manila and could reach 41°C in San Ildefonso, Bulacan.
The heat index reflects how hot it actually feels when humidity is combined with the air temperature.
PAGASA reminded the public to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, especially around midday and early afternoon.
