MANILA – Parts of Mindanao are likely to see rain showers on Saturday as easterlies continue to influence the country’s weather, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
In its 4 a.m. forecast, PAGASA said the easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the Davao Region, Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Sur, South Cotabato, and Sarangani. Residents in these areas were advised to stay cautious as moderate to occasionally heavy downpours could trigger flash floods or landslides.
The northeast monsoon, or “amihan,” will meanwhile bring partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated light rains over Batanes and the Babuyan Islands.
Metro Manila and other parts of the country can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, also due to the easterlies.
Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate sea conditions will continue to prevail nationwide, PAGASA added.
