MANILA – Generally fair weather will prevail across the country on Thursday, although isolated rain showers may develop due to the easterlies, the state weather bureau reported.
Weather specialist Loriedin Galicia said skies will be partly cloudy to cloudy, with localized rains more likely in the afternoon hours.
“The easterlies are contributing to warmer temperatures compared to the past few weeks, but they may also trigger isolated thunderstorms,” Galicia explained.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecast scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Caraga region, Northern Mindanao, Davao Oriental, and Zamboanga del Norte. Residents in these areas were warned of possible flash floods or landslides, especially during periods of moderate to heavy rainfall.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country may also experience brief rain showers or thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon or evening.
Galicia added that no weather disturbance is expected to enter or affect the country within the next two to three days.
Moderate winds and seas will prevail over the northern and eastern sections of Luzon, as well as the eastern Visayas. In other areas, winds will be light to moderate, with slight to moderate sea conditions. /ia
