MANILA — Dr. Jennifer P. Benliro, Satellite College Director of the Pilar Satellite College under Capiz State University, was named Best Poster Awardee at the International Interdisciplinary Research and Development Conference in Social Sciences (IIRDCSS) 2026 held from April 7 to 9 at Crown Legacy Hotel.
The international academic gathering was organized by the Tarlac Agricultural University – College of Arts and Sciences, in partnership with the Interdisciplinary Research and Development Organization in Social Sciences Inc., bringing together researchers from various institutions presenting studies aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Benliro’s study, “Perspectives of RHU Implementers on Health Programs and Activities,” was recognized as the top poster entry among participants. The research highlights the importance of Rural Health Unit (RHU) implementers’ perspectives in improving healthcare delivery, strengthening local health systems, and enhancing community-based health services.
In an interview, Benliro emphasized the value of grounding health programs in field experience.
“Understanding the perspectives of RHU implementers is crucial in designing health programs that are not only effective but also responsive to the realities on the ground,” she said.
She added that the recognition encourages further research in community-based health systems.
“This award inspires me to continue pursuing studies that contribute to strengthening local healthcare delivery and empowering frontline health workers,” she noted.
The conference carried the theme “Interdisciplinary Synergies for the SDGs: Advancing Inclusive, Resilient, and Sustainable Societies,” underscoring research contributions that promote sustainable and inclusive development.
Following the announcement of winners on April 9, faculty, staff, and students of CapSU Pilar extended their congratulations to Benliro, describing the achievement as a reflection of the campus’ continuing commitment to research excellence and community development.
