MANILA – The country will continue to experience hot and mostly clear weather on Friday, although brief rain showers may develop in isolated areas.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said these rains will be triggered by localized thunderstorms and are expected to pass quickly.
Leanne Loreto explained that fair weather will still dominate, but advised the public to stay cautious and bring protection against both heat and sudden rainfall.
Tuguegarao is expected to record the highest temperature at 37°C, followed by Metro Manila at 35°C, and Zamboanga and Davao at 34°C.
Heat index levels may reach up to 42°C in Dumangas, Iloilo; Catarman, Northern Samar; Cotabato City; and Zamboanga City. In Metro Manila, the heat index could hit between 37°C and 38°C.
Across the country, winds will be light to moderate, with seas remaining slight to moderate.
Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Sinlaku continues to have no impact on the Philippines, as it remains well outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility and is moving westward at 10 kph.
