MANILA — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has approved the ₱6.793-trillion General Appropriations Act for 2026, describing it as a critical tool for sustaining economic growth and social development.
Marcos said the national budget is aligned with the administration’s long-term vision and is designed to improve public services and quality of life.
“The signing of the 2026 General Appropriations Act reflects our resolve to deliver a budget that works for the Filipino people,” the President said.
He noted that the government will continue investing heavily in education, health services, food sufficiency, social security programs, and job creation.
The education sector once again received top budgetary priority, with more than ₱1.34 trillion earmarked for its programs.
These funds will support the expansion of public school staffing, teacher promotions, and classroom construction across the country.
