DISKARTE PARA SA PAMILYA AT BAYAN is calling on qualified Filipinos, particularly first-time voters and those with inactive or outdated registration records, to take advantage of the upcoming nationwide voter registration period in preparation for the 2028 National and Local Elections.
The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) will resume voter registration from November 10, 2026 until July 30, 2027, providing eligible Filipinos ample time to register, transfer their registration, reactivate deactivated records, or correct and update their personal information.
DISKARTE emphasized that voter registration is an important exercise of democratic participation and civic responsibility, encouraging Filipinos not to wait until the deadline before attending to their registration requirements.
The registration activities will be conducted from Tuesdays to Fridays, including scheduled Saturdays and holidays, when applicable.
Applicants may file their applications at their respective COMELEC Offices of the Election Officer (OEO), designated satellite and mall registration centers, as well as through the Register Anywhere Program (RAP) and Special Register Anywhere Program (SRAP).
The registration period will accommodate various applications, including:
Registration of first-time voters;
Transfer of registration records within or between cities and municipalities;
Reactivation of deactivated voter records;
Change of name and correction of entries;
Inclusion of registration records and reinstatement of names in the list of voters;
Transfer of registration records from Philippine Foreign Service Posts to local registration offices; and
Updating of records of persons with disabilities (PWDs), senior citizens, members of Indigenous Peoples (IPs), Indigenous Cultural Communities (ICCs), and other vulnerable sectors.
DISKARTE underscored the importance of making voter registration accessible, particularly to Filipinos who may encounter difficulties visiting regular COMELEC offices because of work, school, mobility limitations, or other personal circumstances.
The organization also encouraged eligible citizens to ensure that their registration information is accurate and updated, noting that an active and properly maintained voter record is essential to participating in future elections.
While the 2028 elections may still be some time away, DISKARTE stressed that responsible citizenship begins with preparation and participation.
It called on families, community leaders, youth groups, workers, and civic organizations to help disseminate information about the registration schedule and encourage qualified Filipinos to exercise their right to vote.
“Every vote matters, and every qualified Filipino should have the opportunity to make their voice heard. Register early, keep your records updated, and take an active part in shaping the country’s future,” El Amigo, DISKARTE spokesperson, said Thursday.
The organization reiterated that an informed and participative electorate is vital to strengthening democracy and promoting accountable leadership.
DISKARTE PARA SA PAMILYA AT BAYAN is encouraging the public to make voter registration a family and community priority in preparation for the 2028 national and local polls.
