QUEZON CITY — Residents of Batanes will soon benefit from advanced medical screenings as the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) brings a top-tier, portable AI X-ray system to the province. The REMEX KA6, which underwent rigorous evaluation in NASA’s space-ready imaging tests, was recognized as the top-performing device for precision and reliability.
Designed for mobility, the lightweight (3.5 kg) and battery-operated system allows health workers to reach even the most remote communities in Basco and Sabtang. Its built-in AI can detect Tuberculosis and six other chest-related conditions—including pneumonia, nodules, masses, pneumothorax, pleural effusion, and bone fractures—providing instant on-site results.
“This initiative follows President Marcos’ directive to bring the latest healthcare technologies closer to the people,” said PCSO GM Melquiades Robles. “Through collaboration with the private sector, we are ensuring that every community receives accurate and safe diagnostics.”
The deployment underscores a commitment to accessible, high-quality healthcare, delivering rapid, low-radiation diagnostics to the farthest reaches of the Philippines.
