MANILA – The Armed Forces of the Philippines has appointed Air Force Lt. Gen. Rommel Roldan as its acting vice chief of staff following the retirement of Marine Lt. Gen. Jimmy Larida.
According to a statement issued by the military Wednesday evening, Roldan officially stepped into the role after Larida concluded his service.
The assumption of office was marked by a simple ceremony at Tejeros Hall of the AFP Commissioned Officers’ Country Club in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
During the event, AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. acknowledged Larida’s leadership and the contributions he made while serving in the post.
Brawner highlighted that the vice chief of staff position plays a vital role in the organization, noting that the Office of the Vice Chief of Staff continued to carry out its duties effectively under Larida.
